Our Mission

We are on a mission to create innovative food products made from regenerative aquatic resources that are convenient, delicious and most importantly, good for the planet.

We want to make kelp a more attainable food in North American diets using traditional methods of working with the environment while creating original ways to utilize it.

Our Core Values

Indigenous Representation: Naas Foods is an Indigenous-led company committed to creating fair opportunity and providing benefit to local First Nation communities. Naas strives to educate consumers on traditional knowledge and history of the local peoples through Nuu-Chah-Nulth language and story.

Quality: We promise to make our products with the highest quality ingredients, and the most qualified hands.

Environmental Integrity: We are constantly evaluating our harvesting, production, and packaging methods to guarantee they have as little impact on the environment as possible.

Sustainability: We strive to conduct our business in a manner that always considers the four pillars of sustainability: human, social, economic, and environmental.

Innovation: We are committed to utilizing new technology to continually improve our business while finding contemporary ways to harness the power of kelp.

Tofino Roots

Our entire business operates in the traditional hahoulthlee of the Tla-o-qui-aht and Ahousaht (Tofino, BC).

Our Indigenous leader, Stevie Dennis and our operations team hand-harvest wild husmin [kelp] from the pristine shores of the Clayoquot Sound. Right off the dock, our kelp is hand-processed in our Tofino facility.

We take great pride in our harvesting methods and the quality of our kelp. Always fresh, never frozen, and always kind to our environment, our small-scale operation is proud to represent Tofino.
